Chocolate Easter Nests

We know the kids have barely got back to school, and now it’s the holidays. So, if you are struggling to find ways to entertain them – why not make our Easter nests recipe together?

Our chocolate nests are the cutest way to display any treats from the Easter bunny and are so easy to make. You’ll be hard pressed not to be nibbling at these all the time!

What you'll need

  • 225g milk chocolate
  • 2tbsp golden syrup
  • 50g butter
  • 75g cornflakes
  • 36 mini chocolate eggs

Method

  1. Line a 12 hole fairy cake tin with paper cases. Extra points if you can find Easter themed ones!
  2. Melt the chocolate, golden syrup and butter in a bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water. Top tip: Don't let the bowl touch the water or the chocolate might burn.
  3. Once melted, remove the bowl from the heat and gently stir in the cornflakes until all the cereal is coated in the chocolate mix.
  4. Divide the mixture between the paper cases. Press 3 mini eggs into the centre of each nest. Chill in the fridge for an hour or until completely set.

So there is our easy Easter nests recipe! Now you know how to make these yummy Easter treats, you can pick up the ingredients from your local SPAR. Once you’ve mastered this easy Easter nests recipe.

Chocolate Bark

We know around Easter that we indulge in far too many chocolate treats, but we always seem to end up with lots of leftover eggs. If you are getting fed up with what the Easter bunny brought, why not make our easy chocolate bark recipe?

Our chocolate bark recipe is the perfect way to use up any Easter eggs and also makes really nice gifts – you could even tie the bark up in polyethene bags with colourful ribbons and leave it on your friends or neighbours’ doorsteps!

What you'll need

3x 200g milk chocolate bars (or leftover easter egg shards)

2 x 90g packs of mini eggs (or other small eggs for decoration)

Method

  1. Break chocolate into large heatproof bowl. Place your bowl over a pan of simmering water. Make sure the water doesn’t touch the water to prevent it from burning. Let the chocolate melt whilst stirring.
  2. Put ¾ of the mini eggs into a food bag, bash with a rolling pin until slightly broken.
  3. Place a piece of baking parchment out and spread the chocolate out
  4. Then scatter with your remaining broken mini eggs. Leave to cool and set before breaking.

There you have it! You now know how to make chocolate bark,  thanks to our easy recipe. Now you’re comfortable with how to create these delicious treats, you can pick up the ingredients from your local SPAR.
