What is ChildLine Scotland?

ChildLine is the NSPCC?s free, confidential helpline for children and young people. Every day children in Scotland face overwhelming problems. For many ChildLine is their only hope. Trained volunteers provide 24-hour advice and support to the children who contact us via phone, text or online from our bases in Glasgow and Aberdeen.

How ChildLine Scotland makes a difference

The NSPCC estimates that one in five secondary school children have been severely abused or neglected. Many children who speak to ChildLine will be too scared to tell anybody else what is happening to them.

ChildLine has seen a growing demand for help from children and young people. Last year ChildLine Scotland counsellors held over 49,800 counselling interactions with children (by phone, online, or email). 11% of the calls ChildLine received were from children in Scotland.

We need your help to continue to be there for every child who needs us.

What can you do to help?

In partnership with SPAR UK we have planned an exciting calendar of fundraising events for you to take part in. These take place all through out the year and are simple, effective and above all fun!

In addition to these events, we have compiled a list of mini fundraising ideas for you to use any time you feel like organising an event. This could be when you are going to have a busy weekend due to a sporting event or local community event for example. At NSPCC Scotland we are here to support your fundraising efforts for ChildLine with materials, press releases and any additional fundraising ideas.

We also invite you to get involved in one of our organised events that take place across Scotland throughout the year. Just some of these include Fright Night, Christmas concerts, Hike Against Cruelty to Kids (HACK) and running events including the Edinburgh Marathon.

Who should you contact?

If you would like any further details on our organised events or any help with your fundraising activities then please do not hesitate to contact me, Susie Barron, email Susie.Barron@nspcc.org.uk or call the Scottish fundraising team on 0844 892 0212. I am looking forward to hearing about your fundraising events and would like to thank you for your support of ChildLine Scotland.

By supporting ChildLine Scotland you are helping protect many more children from the devastating effects of abuse and neglect.
